There is a beast inside all of us. I often wondered what the beast inside of me looks like. I wonder if it may be ugly. Is it strong. Does it have strength superior to mine? Was it created because of my weakness? So therefore I created a creature that was vastly superior in strength and a penchant for animistic vices.
Is the physical appearance of the beast all that important? For what it looks like is not what it was created from. The need for a beast to be hideous and ugly, is a human misconception.
After all, evil things can be very beautiful, seductive and alluring.
Not everything that is evil is hideous and ugly. But our concept of evil having a terrible appearance is our way of dealing with evil. If evil is ugly than it is easier to dismiss. But if it is beautiful and alluring then it is not so easy to dismiss. For beautiful things are always pleasing, not matter its intentions.
"And no marvel, for Satan ---->
<---himself is transformed
into an angel of light."
(2 Cor. 11:14)
So if the ultimate evil (as some would believe) can make the appearance of light, to hide his evil intentions, then it would seem that would work too for man. After all man was suppose to have been made in the image of God. And the angels, including Satan, were themselves created before man.
But that is hardly the point to make. I don't like to get Biblical. It was just a good example to illustrate the point.
There is a beast within all of us. Sometimes we fail to listen to it, as we fear what my come about through such a compliance. But fear not! A beast is not always evil. A beast's intentions are not always hurtful. We have been instilled with the reasoning that to listen to our dark side is to forfeit the good in our souls. But to make the point, that is not always true. Like anything, excess is what yields the occurrences of such evil.
<--------Such as war. (One of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.)
All these creations, are man conceptions. Without arguing the validity of the Bible, as to whether or not the writers of it were inspired by God, or just the writings of men, they are the perceptions of what our limited mind can grasp. Is it not funny, that celestial creatures ride the heavens in chariots? Why is that funny? Well because that was the mode of transportation at the time these writers contributed to the Bible. That is why, like the Four Horsemen, had to be given a tangible, physical concept, so that we could try and better understand what these celestial beings are.
So no wonder something as abstract as the evil within us (our beast) must be given a physical description, so that we can grasp what it is that is the evil within us.
So if my evil inside of me, happens to be a bestial creature, with a voracious appetite for violence and mayhem, then here it is. But to understand why this creature best represents what I feel, I would have to share the thoughts and bothersome things that plague my mind from time to time.
So i guess we have to look inside ourselves, and ask; who is it that is in control? Are we another Hitler that allowed the gnawing evil inside of him out to the point that it drove him to utter madness? Or will we use the evil inside of us, when it is necessary and gave benefit us?
For we all found out in "Infinity War" and Infinity Crusade" (Marvel Comics copyright) that when Adam Warlock, to better use the Infinity Gauntlet (which contained the Infinity Gems, which controlled all aspect of existence) separated the evil and the good from him, so as to be, what he thought, would be a purely logical creature that was able to serve the universe without emotion. (I will try and explain more of these stories, for those that are interested on my comic blog "Comic Book Geeks 101 at thanosoftitan.blogstream.com )
But him doing so created two beings, one of pure good, the Goddess, and one of pure evil, Magus. Neither of them being balanced, neither one benefited anyone. Because there always has to be a balance. Pure righteousness without reason is just as destructive as pure evil with all its malevolence.
A BALANCE . . .
Left----Middle
Ground----
Right
Does that look familiar with almost everything that concerns man?
What will you do?
Will you ignore your beast within?
Will you let your beast within overrun you?
Or will you find that balance?
