Vampiress (female vampires), another example of the role of women in folklore. I tend to think of it as more than tales, and legends. I think a lot of times we limit our minds to the possibilities. We tend to think that something is so far fetched that it can't be true. We limit ourselves. But just for a moment let's think about this . . .
Are you thinking? Okay here we go.
Most of us all are familiar with Count Dracula, the father of all vampires. Through many movies many have depicted the Count. Most famously, Bela Lugosi. You could see his transfixed eyes boring into the minds of his victims. Sending them to trans-like state where they were unable to defend themselves against this evil creature. My favorite, Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula, was of the same "gentlemanly" game as Bela was. Set to woo a woman into his fold. But the evil was much more pronounced in Gary Oldman's character (mostly because in the 30's when Bela Lugosi was Dracula, society would not view such things), who tossed a baby child to his hungry "brides" who had just tried to taste Jonathan's (how any woman wants to get that close to Kenau Reeves ewwwww) blood. Dracula and other male vampires, seem to rule with fear and anger. They scare their victims into submission (on a few occasion though, find a woman that is appealing to them; a good anime of that is "Vampire Hunter D")
Vampiress? What is man's one and continuing weakness? Women? Or the ethereal touch of a woman's body? So what is it that a vampiress can give a man that would allow him to let down his guard?
Just a touch . . .
Not much, just a tease . . .
Just a taste of her tongue . . .
The brush of her hair against his neck . . .
The erotic plunge of sharpened fangs, into his flesh . . .
These ideas did not come from nowhere. They had to be brought to someone's mind for them to be what they are today; what some consider a fetish. But what is it about a rendezvous with a woman of such magnitude? Is it something that is inbred in man since time began (or for the Christians, since the start of sin)? Or does it come back to the fact that Adam's pride lost him his companionship with Lilith? Maybe he did like what she was, and what she did to him. But pride was his downfall, and now he can never get back what he turned his face in disgust at.
How is that these tales, seem to reach all the way down to human behavior. Is it that they are devised to explain human behavior? Or is human behavior used to describe these tales. Kind of like who came first the chicken or the egg.
The reason that women have such a power that man will never have . . . and I don't mean like a physical power, as in men are usually physically stronger than a woman . . . I am talking about the power of suggestion. And why does it work for women better than it works for men? Because men give in to that power. A person is only susceptible to such a power by giving into it. Not to say that women never lose control, but more often than not, it is the man that cannot say no to his carnal desires.
That is our weakness and their strength.
But the thing is, there is nothing wrong with those desires. God (or whatever it is you believe) created us with the senses to enjoy such pleasures. He wanted our senses to be erotic and dirty. How else are we suppose to go on as a race? It is the embracing of such things that is our responsibility.
Embrace them. Enjoy them. Cherish them. Indulge in them. And don't ever look back, and I promise you, the next time you want what you want, you just might get it.
I have a vampiress that embraces them . . . and who doesn't love being the "victim" of a beautiful vampiress?
